A reading evening on the topic “Common and Distinct Features of Eastern and Western Heroic Epics: A Comparative Study of the ‘Alpomish’ and ‘Odyssey’ Epics” was organized among students at the Information and Library Center of Kokand University.

During the event, the epics “Alpomish” and “Odyssey” were comparatively analyzed, and an exchange of views took place regarding their ideological and artistic features, heroic spirit, and their role in reflecting national and universal values.

In addition, students presented readings of selected excerpts from the works, staged performances were showcased, and discussions on the topic were organized.

The main objective of this reading evening was to develop a culture of reading among students, increase interest in national and world literary heritage, foster skills in comparative analysis of Eastern and Western literary thought, and educate young people in the spirit of patriotism, devotion, and high moral values.
