A Roundtable Discussion Dedicated to “Qutadg‘u Bilig” at Kokand University

In order to ensure the implementation of the Resolution No. PQ-9 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 15, 2026, as well as to widely promote enlightenment and a culture of reading among young people, a series of spiritual-educational events and roundtable discussions are being organized at Kokand University.
One of such events was held today at the University Information and Library Center. During the meeting, the 11th-century masterpiece of spiritual heritage, Yusuf Khos Hajib’s epic poem “Qutadg‘u Bilig”, and its educational significance were comprehensively discussed.
Students of the “Philology and Language Teaching (Uzbek Language)” program actively participated in the roundtable discussion. Throughout the event, participants exchanged views on the socio-political, moral, and philosophical ideas presented in the work, including the glorification of knowledge and enlightenment, language etiquette, professional ethics, child upbringing, as well as the culture of greeting and hospitality as universal human values.
In addition, students expressed their own reflections on the issues raised in the work and reached meaningful conclusions. During the meeting, they also skillfully recited memorized passages from the epic, contributing to the richness and impact of the event.
