An Event Held at Qo‘qon University as Part of the “Literature Festival”
In order to implement the directive of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 13, 2025, “On the worthy celebration of the anniversaries of prominent figures in literature, culture and art, science, and the wide promotion of their work,” the “Literature Festival” is being widely celebrated in the Fergana region. As part of this initiative, a spiritual and educational event was organized at Qo‘qon University, dedicated to the memory and creative legacy of the great masters of Uzbek literature. During the event, commemorative lectures were delivered in honor of the 175th anniversary of Muqimi, the 145th anniversary of Mirzo Hoqandiy, the 140th anniversary of Ashurali Zohiriy, the 125th anniversary of Charxiy, the 120th anniversary of Sobir Abdulla, as well as the birth anniversaries of Uzbekistan’s People’s Poet Oxunjon Hakimov, Yo‘ldosh Sulaymon, Maqsuda Egamberdiyeva, G‘ulom Fatxiddin, A’zam O‘ktam, and Minxojiddin Mirzo.
The event, attended by university professors, students, and members of the literary community, highlighted the role of these literary figures in the development of national literature, their contribution to youth education, and the national and universal values reflected in their works.
This gathering, held as part of the “Literature Festival,” served to promote a culture of reading among students, deepen the understanding of literary heritage, and strengthen respect for national values.
