Kokand University hosted the 2nd Traditional International Scientific and Practical Conference on “The Social Significance of the Mother Tongue and Literature in the Context of Globalization and Principles of Its Preservation.”

The conference was dedicated to the scientific discussion of the role of the mother tongue and literature in society, language policy in the context of globalization, cultural heritage, issues of teaching the mother tongue and literature in the education system, as well as approaches to language preservation and development.

The conference brought together representatives of higher education and research institutions from the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign countries, including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as professors, researchers, doctoral students, master’s students, and field specialists.

During the event, presentations and discussions were held on such relevant topics as globalization and language policy, the social functions of the mother tongue and literature, digital environment and language, translation and intercultural communication, and language in folklore and national heritage.

At the conclusion of the conference, proposals and recommendations were put forward to enhance the social significance of the mother tongue and literature, preserve and develop the national language, and further expand scientific cooperation.
