At the scientific seminar under the Academic Council PhD.03/25.12.2024.Fil.130.02 at Kokand University, the dissertations of Ashurova (Latipova) Nargiza Valijon qizi, titled “A Contrastive Study of Cohesion in Languages of Different Systems (on the Basis of Ellipsis)”, and Akhmedova Gulxumor Nodirbek qizi, titled “A Contrastive Study of the Conceptual Semantics of ‘Humor’ in English and Uzbek (Russian) Discourses”, specializing in 10.00.06 – Comparative Literary Studies, Contrastive Linguistics, and Translation Studies, were discussed as part of their work toward the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology. The discussion was rich in debate and lively exchange of opinions. Both candidates’ dissertations were recommended for public defense.
