On March 2, a seminar dedicated to expanding youth policy, modern education, and social support mechanisms was held at Kokand University in the city of Kokand.

During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the tasks set at the February 24 meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which focused on creating additional opportunities to support youth initiatives.

The event was opened with an introductory speech by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov. The seminar was also attended by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ilhom Sirojov, Chairman of the Mahalla Association of Uzbekistan Qahramon Quronboyev, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency Alisher Sa’dullayev, and Head of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment Otabek Hasanov.

In his speech, the President particularly noted that Kokand University had launched a 400-seat educational center equipped with modern equipment, technology, and laboratories. The center plans to provide six-month free courses in programming, artificial intelligence, and robotics for children from low-income families. It was emphasized that this initiative would enable more than 5,000 unorganized youth annually to gain modern knowledge and skills.

The seminar addressed practical implementation of these tasks, expanding coverage, and promoting this experience across regions.

As noted, in cooperation with the Youth Affairs Agency, the Mahalla Association of Uzbekistan, the Family and Women’s Committee, and Kokand University, special free courses are being organized for young people of the Fergana region in programming, artificial intelligence, robotics, and STEAM subjects.

Currently, a 200-seat “Youth IT Academy” and specialized educational buildings for STEAM subjects with a capacity of 1,650 seats have been established at the university. Two hundred modern computers have been installed, and robotics and physics laboratories have been equipped with advanced technologies.

Within the framework of the project, more than 1,000 young people are receiving free education in programming, artificial intelligence, robotics, STEAM disciplines, and English language.

At the conclusion of the seminar, specific tasks were defined to fully and effectively implement the President’s initiatives, expand coverage of disadvantaged youth, and strengthen regional cooperation.
