On March 25, 2026, the Kick-off Meeting of the international project GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan, implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE program, was held at Tashkent International University.

The project aims to integrate sustainable development principles into higher education, develop “green campus” strategies, and strengthen the institutional capacity of universities.

The event brought together high-level participants, including Iskandar Yuldashev, Rector of Tashkent International University; Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan; Vytautas Bučinskas, diplomatic representative; and Fırat Dursun, Acting Education Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, participants discussed the project’s objectives, priority areas, and expected outcomes, as well as explored prospects for future cooperation. The program included partner presentations, discussions on work packages, a campus tour, and a symbolic tree planting ceremony.

The GreenCamUz project is expected to contribute to expanding international cooperation, promoting innovative and environmentally sustainable approaches in education, and fostering sustainability-oriented competencies among students and academic communities.
